There is only one time zone in China. No matter where you are, from the
east most Shanghai to west most Xin Jiang. All of China observes Beijing Time,
GMT+8.
Day light saving: No
China doesn't observe daylight saving time in the summer as some countries
do. There is a short period of time when China apply day light saving from
1986-1991 though. This adjustment is abandoned in the year of 1992.
This year on Chinese Lunar Calendar: The year
of horse
Starting 2/12/2002,
Chinese people entered the year of horse. (Last year is the year of snake,
staring January 24, 2001, the next year will be the year of sheep.) Everyone
has a sign that is related to the Lunar year.
