  1. Why the site is in English only? I prefer to read Chinese. [Top]
By analyzing the visitors of this site, I found the majority (87.9%) of them come from U.S. and Japan. They cannot read Chinese. Although I can create two versions of the same site, I cannot bear the the overhead to keep the two versions synchronized. Above all, most visitors of my site can read English nowadays.
  2. Why the site contains only text and photos? You know, pictures, icons and flashes make a web more beautiful. [Top]
I am not a visual designer, so my graphics would look crummy anyway. Since this web site is totally created by myself, the text-only nature is suitable for the current situation. I believe content is the most important for a web site instead of format and appearance.
  3. Where is your web server? I mean the physical location of your web site? [Top]
I rented 60M disk space from an ISP. According to their Ad, the server is physically located in the Data Center of China Telecom, 14 Floor, 333 Wu Sheng Rd, Shanghai, China.
  4. Why do you create this web site? [Top]
This is a normal homepage. The different is, I registered the domain and paid for web hosting services. I created a web site focusing on technology 4 years ago when I was in university. Now, I don't want to show off technology any more. This is the site that solely introduce myself. Maybe this is the most decent information source on the Internet about Jian Shuo Wang. I have many friends and I told them to come to this site to check latest information about me, so I don't need to send them individual emails.
  5. Why your Future Home page looks like a house advertisement? [Top]
Yes. I did got the pictures for this page from Vanke's advertisement. I hope I can take some pictures by my own one day and replace the current pictures.
  6. Where do you update this site? [Top]
This site is primarily constructed after I go back to home.
  7. Why don't you use ASP or CGI on your web site? Do you know how to use it?
Certainly I am very skillful on ASP and database stuff. I have been supporting ASP for about two years. The reason I don't use any ASP is simple: I didn't pay for it and ISP only provide static web page storage for me. Currently, based on the fact that the page hits per day is still very low, there is not need to automate anything, I don't need a dynamic pages now.

  8. Can I link to your web site or pages in your web site?
Certainly yes. You are encouraged to add a link to my web site one yours. Please let me know and I will do reciprocal link for you.

  9. Why don't you put any technical stuff onto this web site?
I have to admit I am a keen technical fan. I worked hard on the area of web related technologies and have been evangelist for Microsoft BizTalk and .NET vision for more than one year. For example, I have created about 200M of PowerPoint slides by myself in the last two years. HOWEVER, I made up my mind not to mix  the technical stuff with my personal stuff. This site is solely introducing about myself and I don't want to put everything into this web site just because I know or I have or it is useful. Another reason why you cannot see anything about technology on this web site is, that it may be boring and risky to identify which part of my material is Microsoft confidential and which is not. I know too much about the detail of Microsoft and hard to

  10. Why didn't you mention so little about your colleagues in Microsoft?
I wanted to introduce my talented workmates in Microsoft. I am so happy to work with these guys and am continuously learning from everyone of them. However, it is a little bit hard for me to judge whether they like the public appearance on my web site and even harder to confirm with each of them that they are willing to be introduced on my web site. So the safest way is the avoid this topic. By exclude such information, it is also safe that I don't leak any Microsoft confidential information to outside world via this web site. Thank you for every visitor's understanding on this.
