Hi Jian Shuo, this is Carroll in California again writing to you
off-blog. Please bear in mind that I am a mom and have two sons
who are around your age :-)

I keep checking back to your July post about how you were feeling
happy.

Since I see that someone else posted a guess as to the reason
(Big sale at Ikea which really made me laugh) I want to go on
record (but off-blog in case I am right so your desire to break
the news at your own chosen time will be respected) with a guess
of my own.

By any chance, is Wendy also very very happy?

And are your parents also perhaps "beside themselves" (a strange
colloquialism for also being "bursting with happiness")?

I'm thinking it could be possible that your beloved Wendy/Fan is
pregnant :-)

That is certainly the kind of news that would make a prospective
father spill over with joy the way you were that day!

I will definitely keep this thought to myself (ie: off your blog)
but could not resist sending you my guess so that you will know
that at least one person out here is sending all sorts of "happy
for you too" thoughts in your direction.

When I was pregnant for the first time, I wanted very much to
keep the news a secret for a few months until we were sure that
everything was going to be OK. It's a very special time for a
young couple.

If this is not the reason for your happiness right now, I have no
doubt that it will be sometime in the future, and my second guess
is that you will be really wonderful parents.
